Top commanders of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka join CDS Bipin Rawat final journey

Military officers of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh joined the last ceremonies of India’s first head of guard staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat who was killed in a chopper crash in Tamil Nadu two days prior.

An ANI report said naval commander Ravindra Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne (resigned), previous head of protection staff of Sri Lanka, who too went to the last ceremonies, was a course-mate of General Rawat at the National Defense College and a dear companion. The last ceremonies would be performed at the Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment.

General Rawat, his better half Madhulika and 11 other military staff were killed when an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper smashed close to Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
