The taliban have warned of ‘consequences’ if the US would fail to meet a deadline to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan , after the president stated the removal as ‘ tough’.
The US was supposed to withdraw the troops fully within six weeks according to the agreement signed by Taliban in Qatar.
Biden doubted on the deadline saying it is yet to be decided when the troops would be leaving.
The deal excluded the Afghanistan government and saw the Taliban pledge to return to hold peace talks with the Administration of President Ashraf Ghani.
The talks haven’t made much progress since starting of September.
Russia would be hosting the first of three international conferences aimed at starting the peace process ahead of May 1 deadline.
Many key players would be attending including US peace envoy and representatives of Iran, India, China and Pakistan.
