Elon Musk has announced that the block feature on X (formerly Twitter) is being taken away. This means that users will no longer be able to block other users, except in direct messages. Many users are upset about this decision. The block feature stops people from interacting with, seeing, and following an account. However, the ‘Mute’ feature will still be available on the social media platform. Musk said that block will be removed as a feature, except for direct messages. He also said that this decision doesn’t make sense. In June, Musk had suggested that blocking should be replaced with a stronger form of muting. He has repeatedly complained about mass blocking campaigns against users who subscribe to Twitter Blue. Despite some users considering block to be an important safety feature, there has been backlash against the suggestion to remove it. Sadly, there are people called trolls and spammers who appear. People who dislike others will always try to become popular by creating fake accounts to insult and ruin their reputation. They feel important when they can manipulate and control the situation. For each person, someone posted on the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley account. Another person said that women won’t be able to stop abusers and those men will still be able to follow and stalk. Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, supported Musk. He said “100 per cent mute only”. However, most people said that removing the Block feature is a bad idea.
